Sharks win DH September SA, book spot in EPL S15 Conference

Jhonatan "⁠jnt⁠" Silva's side will have a chance to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 15.

DreamHack Open September South America has concluded, with Sharks claiming a 3-2 victory over 9z in the best-of-five final. Due to coming from the upper bracket, 9z had a map advantage in the final series, but were unable to take it over the line, only winning Nuke.

After losing to 9z in the first round of the four-team, double-elimination bracket, Sharks managed to recover, beating both Paquetá and Bravos to set up the rematch with 9z in the grand final.

Lucaozy was consistently good through the whole series

The final was extremely close all around, and kicked off on Sharks' pick of Ancient. The Brazilian side was able to close out the map 16-14 after a strong Terrorist side, and a good late-game. Nuke was essentially the opposite, with Sharks losing momentum after an early lead, a deficit they were unable to recover from in the second half, losing 13-16.

On Inferno, Sharks had yet another powerful T side, winning the first half 9-6. After a brief comeback attempt from the 9z side, Sharks established a defense and close out Inferno 16-14. Mirage was the most one-sided of the maps, even if it still went 27 rounds. Despite the best efforts of Santino "⁠try⁠" Rigal, 9z could only win four T side rounds, and eventually lost 11-16.

By winning DreamHack September South America, Sharks have secured a spot at ESL Pro League Season 15's Conference, set to take place in November. The winners of other DreamHack events, Extra Salt, Renewal, and Renegades have all also secured spots at the Conference.

In DreamHack September NA, GODSENT will receive the Conference spot if they win the final against Extra Salt, but it is not currently known if they would receive the spot if they place 2nd.
